2014 Stigma Conference

The 5th Annual International Conference on Stigma was held at Howard University College of Medicine on Friday November 21, 2014, emceed by Lisa Fager Bediako. The theme was, “Standing Together for Human Rights in Health.” This was an action packed day of keynotes, plenary sessions, panels, workshops, networking, entertainment and more. The event included a Keynote by Douglas Brooks, the director of the Office of National AIDS Policy. Two Jam packed plenary sessions were followed by a host of afternoon workshops, including, “Let’s Talk about Sex!” moderated by Rodney McCoy. Howard University’s Afro Blue, Mary Bowman and Prominsing Futures did performances. Top funders included Gilead Sciences, DC Health, and the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation.
